GURD-Rwanda completes one-day health reproductive campaign

Today 19th August, 2021 at Nyamasheke Youth Friendly Center,
GURD-Rwanda climaxed a one-day awareness campaign among schooling youth about
health reproductive, preventing deaseses caused by unprotected sexual
intercourse and menstrual health awareness.

Schooling Girls participants from Nyamasheke friendly center
received a donation of over one hundred sanitary pads with the call to adopt
the practice of using it on regular basis.

At the event, specialized trainers in the fields urged
participants to openly discuss issues pertinent to their menstrual and
reproductive health, rather than see it as a taboo.

It was agreed that most teenmothers have lack of proper education
regarding their menstrual cycle, by the testimony from Girls who participated
in the training said that the campaign raised their awareness about health
reproductive and menstrual health and that provided pads will help them to stay
at School while going through their menstrual spell.

Coordinator of Nyamasheke YFC said that campaign helped a lot as
teenagers are now aware about reproductive health, sex and rights.

GURD-Rwanda has the mission to create self-sustaining generations
by supporting the community through empowering women, youth and child
protection and making them Sustainable by implementing developmental activities
; so as to enhance health promotion, education, leadership, and other social
ventures.
