INTERNATIONAL GIRLS DAY CELEBRATION 2025

Last
week on October 08, during the International Day of the Girl 2025 week,
GURD-Rwanda celebrated International Day of the Girl 2025 at GS St Nicolas
Nyamasheke A under the them: ‘The Girl I am, the Change I lead’,  the event was marked by welcome speech by the
Head teacher Sr. Marie VERONICA MONYENCHE AYAKO.


Mentorship
session led by IRAMBONA Dorothy a former AMPLIFY GIRLS followership graduate,
whereby as a senior girl mentored younger girls on academics journey, building
confidence, and to make informed decisions, choices, self-leadership and
governance skills.

She was followed by DUSHIME Gloriose who emphasized on the
theme, she highlighted that “The Girl I Am, The Change I Lead” is a powerful
theme that celebrates the strength, identity, and leadership of girls and young
women.


 It highlights the
idea that every girl has the potential to create positive change in her
community and the world by embracing who she is her voice, talents, and dreams.
She pointed out that, the theme encourages self-confidence, resilience, and
empowerment, reminding girls that leadership is not just about holding
positions of power but about taking initiative, standing up for what is right,
and inspiring others. It also emphasizes equality, education, and breaking
barriers, showing that when girls are given opportunities and support, they
become catalysts for lasting social progress and transformation.



She concluded by reminding Girls that: The more you raise
your potential, the more you improve your level of choice
