GURD-Rwanda, with support from the The Arthur B. Schultz Foundation organized a one-day training for members of the Icyizere_Design_Workshop group to strengthen their knowledge and skills in saving, borrowing, and developing small-scale business projects. Through the group's savings and lending scheme, one member receives RWF 150,000 each month to help implement an income-generating project.
Participants were encouraged to invest the funds in the projects they had planned, avoid unnecessary spending, and take advantage of the opportunities provided through their group. Members can access loans at a low interest rate; however, they are required to first prepare and present a clear business plan showing how the borrowed funds will be used before receiving the loan.
